Hence I said that use it for blocky pictures. Read the rest before you jump to conclusions. I also noticed that you decided to cut out the "
" from my quote. In the rest of the world, a smile can symbolise light-heartedness. It was a mild joke. Again: Do Not Jump To Conclusions.
Zack, this is what you gotta do. Find the exact colour of the background of your webpage. Then, open your text thing in PS and make a new layer and stick it at the very bottom. Use the paint bucket tool and fill that colour in the background. As already mentioned, this is a fake transparency, creating the same effect. You shouldn't get those white jaggedy lines.
I would be very surprised if PS didn't support transparent PNGs. I recall using them in PS6 and IR.
I guess the bottom of my last post wasn't read then, Zack?
Ah well, no surprise.
Some browsers don't like transparent PNGs. I guess now, it's all supported, if I were you I would go for it, but doing the way I mentioned gives a guarantee no jageddy line unless you are being a monkey and doing something dumb. It's cool, I do it all the time.

I read the bottom.
Anyway, there's a problem. I'm using a complex image background. So, I can't really use that as the background of my image, because it will interrupt the flow.

i could do it for you if you post the image, and a screen shot of what you're trying to do with it *O*
or maybe consider putting the image inside a solid box instead? that's a technique used often, you can accent the image with it too.
sometimes a fancy background is more problematic than classy.

It isn't really THAT fancy - it's just a gradient. But still, chopping it up like that will cause problems.
Solid Box? Please explain.

Okay, you have three options:
1) Use 24-bit PNGs with transparency. They've been around since 1994, Photoshop can do them... These work in IE 5.5+ with a special CSS filter, but work fine in Mozilla based browsers and Safari.
2) Take a picture of your background and use it as the background in Photoshop. I know a few tricks to keep the file size down if that's a problem.
3) Leave it without AA or use a new image.
There's other things you could... make 5 images and use alpha transparency, or what have you, but those three are the only practical ones.

Like I told you, use the Mate feature in "Save for web". Remember the logo I made? It is antialiased. I just had to tell PS that I was gonna use it on a blue background and it fixed the antialias for me. If you are using a complex background, just find an average colour. It will look good, if it is just anti alias.

I tried Save For Web (see one of my posts above). Didn't work well.

¿Are you using the "Mate" option like I explained? Look at this screenshot and see how Photoshop creates the antialias to the colour you choose, leaving it transparent:

Nate, he's using a gradient background. But all he has to do is past the background on photoshop.
Zack, remember to make sure it works in IE. The easiest way to do this is find an js behavior file that'll load the alpha filter. Try google, there's a bunch of them.
