I'm sure Linux is an excellent OS, but I stick to Windows, for pretty much all the points that Fling mentioned.
Just recently I disabled all the background processes that aren't needed (Start->Run->Type "Msconfig", and click on the processes tab). My system runs uberfaster than it used to (besides the fact that something else is slowing it down, possibly a virus or a hardware malfunction<<-most likely).
f only life let you press CTRL-Z.

That's kind of a dumb thing to say really...
Anyhow, my big "beef" with Linux users is that they go around trashing Windows at every opportunity they get. While a smaller portion of Windows users do this, there is still a larger amount who don't as compared to the number of Linux users who don't. I don't go around actively bashing Linux so I don't see why they have to bash Windows. People are going to use what they're going to use and that's that really. I just get kind of pissed when I see people (like TBBQ in this topic) put down the usage of Windows, so I had to respond to it hehe. That's all.

Muwaahahahahahaaaa. Its so funny. My aunt just called *yesterday* complaining that her windows 2000 pc just broke down due to a virus infection. Her computer technician formatted it and reinstalled the whole system with Win98. It got infected again =P after the fact that she uses *updated* versions of McAffee and Norton Antivirus =) and a firewall. I feel so sorry for her =(.
For me I dual boot with WinME and Linux. Right now WinME installation is corrupt. I really am lost as to why it got corrupt =P.
Linux bashing? I am still waiting for you to say anything which will point to the fact that Linux is inferior to Windows in any respect and I am not talking about the frills.
Your experience with Linux being 'slow' is bad i guess =(. Have you tried the latest 2.6.x kernel? Its really fast. My system becomes 'Ready and Usable' in approx. 20seconds while WinXP is slower much slower.....muwaahahahaa =). Its a gimmick - a resource hungry pathetically slow gimmick. It brings up the user screen within a few seconds of login but the services like background programs like NortonAV or any other taskbar program doesnt become usable until after 45seconds of the desktop appears. :barf:
Not to mention the viruses that go around the internet and the vulnerabilities in WinXP. You want me to list the 'holes' in XP :rotfl:
Edit: BTW about the part of Linux not being a gamers OS. I think you didnt get me correctly. Linux provides a better implementation of OpenGL and other stuff =P. So many of the games which have been ported to Linux perform much better in Linux than in their Microsoft counterpart :roll:

We don't really care, atleast not me. You run Linux all you want.
But stop being a "Jehovas" and push your "beleifs" onto everyone. I like windows 98, and I'm not about to change in the near future.
You like Linux (TBBQ).
And Fling like windows.
Linux is NOT better then anything else.
Windows is NOT better then anything else.
(except some of thos QB-OS's which go: SHELL "", they kinnda suck)
It's like being in the desert without any water, but you have a nugget of gold, yeah, real good.
If you are in the dessert you want the water, if you are in the bank then you want the nugget.
Linux might be best for games, but there are more games available for Windows users. So, in a way Windows is better. It all depends on the context you place it in, and how you compare.
Now, can we just drop the Linux thing?
