Some optimization hints...

Indeed it did and you were right to say something. I did get the content of the post you made from an admin because I was curious. I'm not going to make anything of it though. As you said, you weren't exactly sober, and as I said before, I've been stressed lately. I'm not going to hold anything against you for what you posted and I hope you won't based on my ranting.

Actually, I am I going to point one thing out. My nick is not 69. You may find something if you look up the ASCII value of 1000101 though.
Life is like a box of chocolates', hrm, WTF, no it isn't, more like, 'life is like a steaming pile of horse crap.'

Quote:Hmm...I didn't know that long variable names slow QB down. I knew that it affected GWBasic, but I read somewhere that in QB, it doesn't matter once you compile.
Once you compile, it doesn't matter because they are translated to memory addresses. Inside the IDE might be a different story though...you never know with that buggy POS.
I'd knock on wood, but my desk is particle board.

Capital E? And that makes things a whole lot clearer? =P Smile

Ah...I see E is for Eric...and the fact that ASCII E is 69 is just...well...a little bit funny if your name starts with an E.

adosorken:
Regarding the variable-name-length optimizations...yes, I was referring to the translated, not compiled form. I haven't done all that much measuring of compiled code...but in some instances (eg in the manual circle thread started by Zack) the compiled version of my method is slower than the translated...screwy, that, but true at least on my machine.

Cheers all.
