This might be off topic, but:
Hey, moderators? Why doesn't this board automatically quote the last post, indented with ">" characters? It'd make things a lot easier to understand, I think (well, if people had responsible quoting practices).
Or does everyone think that the board is small and personal enough to get away with "I agree" or "Well said, sir!" posts?

That would seriously be a pain in the neck if did that automatically however a quote last post checkbox would be handy!

You think it'd be a pain? It works on Usenet. Then again, Usenet has a LOT more traffic than qbasicnews. But to quote the last post, just click "Quote" above it.

Well, in my opinion, that is quite a ridiculous idea. I mean, Are people really lazy enough not to be bothered to look above the post they are reading? Come on.

Sure, I agree that someone'd have to be lazy not to look up to the post above if there was a reference to it
. But what if someone makes a reference to a post say, three pages back? Or someone just says "I agree"?
I know my suggestion's probably not feasible :roll: . Just tried, in case someone thought it was workable.

Ok, but most people do quote if they are refering to a post which was three pages back
Whereas quoting is pointless if you are refering to the last post in the thread, If ya see what I mean

But it looks messy, and soon the forum will be flooded with quotes, making you read messages twice..
