I would say that! there are more basic laughes then you think and they still teach it in the unversitys/colleges so as long as they ceep doing so the chanses of basic dieing are microsopic

if qbasic dies it's probably because people stops using
DOS (=buying XP 2000 whatever wich don't use dos)
But then also VB is another "verision" of the language BASIC
and so is QB so even if qbasic dies the BASIC language
itself probably wont die unless...

And shogun: I hope you know that I have some heatseeking missiles

nononono I keep the nukes in the kitchen
(so I can use the plutonium instead of a
microwave oven in case of peace)

Not vb thats for sure.
(microsoft writes their os code in asm and c, maybe c++, but im not sure about that)

Windows 9X, 2000, Me and XP are written in C++ with inline assembly or complete assembly modules for core graphic/sound/keyboard/i-o functions and drivers.
