A QBRPG demo
#11
I did talk to Lily, she told me she had been in the forest, and nothing happened...

I walked around, and encountered a guy that told me noone was allowed into the forest, I tried going into each house and talking to everyone.. then got bored... And annoyed at the boundary thingy...

The controlls are a bit unresponsive, and the bounding boxes need finetuning, lots of it...

Tested on Win 98

But like i said, it looks good, definitely a good start.

You have to go back and talk to her again, to find out how she got past the guard.

...it does?? Do we have two different versions of QFAK? I see zero similarities...
  • Battles take place on the actual map, not on a seperate screen
QFAK battles and TOL battles are both real time, yet both are tedious
Collision on both are quite broken
Older versions of QFAK used Inp(96) for movement, same with this rpg.
Both rpg's use translucency for text boxes.
Both rpg's use up-down battle styles.

Heh... i reread what i wrote, and i almost thought i was saying that this guy was using sj zero's rpg engine... i'm not saying this at all.

You should've seen the collision at one point of development. I kept getting stuck inside of people whenever they walked into me, and I had to wait until they walked away. It really was broken, then. Fixed that long ago, though.
