I hear that winXP is horrible for DOS... maybe that's the problem.

The one I use as a laplink buffer when moving over files that are
bigger than 1.4Mb from the family's computer downstairs to my computer
A portable computer with greyscale lcd screen, 60Mb HD,

my computer is slow Sad

I have a really old computer (an old packard bell) that is like a 90mhz or worse yet... and I have a 533.... the kicker is that my 533 has a 64 MB ram... if I had more ram then it would not be so bad.

I'm gonna get me a 2.53 Ghz comp with 512 MB ram soon tho so its not so bad. It will svare me how fast it is tho.. hehe........wow this is a dumb post, sorry.

Windows XP's minimun specs are a PII at 333Mhz with 128 Megs of RAM, so *please* and *for your own sake* ¡¡UNINSTALL WINXP FROM YOUR 233!! Big Grin

I have three PCs: a CX486DX2, a Pentium MMX 233Mhz and an AMD K6/2 500 Mhz. Everytime I code something, it should run at full framerate in my 233 (main computer) and it should be playable in my 486.

90% of times your game needs 500Mhz+ 'cause it is not enough optimized... or it is in pure QB doing hi-end graphics.

And an answer to shogun: The mistake is measuring a computer's power just looking at the MHz. You should look at the MFLOPs (Mega Floating Point Operations per second). Your Macs are probably based on RISCs/68K Motorola which are built in almost the opposite way that PCs. A RISC usually needs less Mhz to do the same work as a PC with more Mhz. Does it means it is better? Not neccesarily. You can buy a 150 Mhz MAC that works with the same efficience that a 350 Mhz PC. They are just equivalent computers.

heh... I wanted 98 or at least 2000...

if I had my way, there would be NO, NONE, NOT EVEN A BIT, of windows on that machine...

but, it's not mine anyway Big Grin
