Thanks, Antoni!
wow, looks like all the bigwigs post on these forums.
Btw, I'm quite impressed with your version of the JPEG decoder! I'm glad someone continued the work in that area.

I'll certainly take a look into the Windows BASIC interpreters/compilers (freeBasic, etc). I think it's about time for the community to transition to them. I would be impressed with a Windows interpreter than can natively run old QuickBasic programs with no modifications. Can FreeBasic do that?

And again, can someone confirm these allegations of me plagiarizing code, as mentioned earlier in this thread? Somehow I find that disturbing, and would like to dispel any false rumors.

As long as it doesn't use CALL INTERRUPTX, DEF SEG, or anything else that's DOS or real mode specific, yep it's very likely to work without changes. Just ask Angelo Mottola (creator of DirectQB and Wetspot), he's back too and porting Wetspot to FB was as simple as commenting out a few lines.

Also, it can't interpret, but even better it compiles to native evecutables for win32, linux, and protected mode dos. The headers from Allegro, SDL, and several other libraries have already been ported Big Grin

BTW, it's nice to see you here. Suddenly we seem to be getting an influx of big names from the old qb community.

NOW WHO IS THE REAL AUTHOR OF "Custom screen modes in QB" ??? I updated (will be done actually to Wednesday, possibly) the VGA tweaker, and wrote a readme for it in which i currently mentioned Dmitry Brant. Is this true this way?

(Now i fixed that blanking had to start maximally at 512: it can start at up to 1024. I tweaked some other interesting modes in it including the 256 color 400x300 mode in 3 variants: one for DosBox, and other VGA emulators, and two for real VGA. They worked nicely. The 512x384 mode was really "inspired by the Cheetah" since i had never seen it anywhere before i first used)
fter 60 million years a civilization will search for a meteorite destroying most of the living creatures around this age...

There must be a better future for the Cheetahs!
