FreeBasic + FBIde download (0.11b + FBIde 0.3.3a)
#11
Tnx guys,

aetherfox: No one says you have to use FBIde or this package, it has nothing to do with official FB releases (unless v1ct0r decides otherwise) So there will be always seperate FBIde and FreeBasic, as before.
Quote:fbc is a command-line compiler with more than one IDE on the works. I've found fbIDE too buggy for my tastes...I actually use ConTEXT or notepad or a VBScript editor I wrote a while back. I only use fbIDE from time to time to check stuff and when I'm testing code.
Tell me about those bugs, I'm doing all I can to eliminate them.

There's no problem in adding the compiler, that just makes it easier to new FB users.

Any IDE author can include FreeBASIC, that's allowed by the license -- well, if the IDE costs money, FSF lawers won't be too happy to know ;). The full IDE's sources would be needed too..

I think Bloodshed should be shot for including mingw to their IDE. What kind of bastard gen-y punks would want to make it easy to get started programming? I just hope nobody tries to make BASIC easy enough for beginners, no sir...

Hahahahahahaha, well then sir, I have to say that if you are scared of editing an ini file and doing basic archive extraction, programming...or maybe even computers are NOT for you.

Good move VonGodric I think its a good move to allow more people to start using fB with the most ease.

aetherfox: Get off your elitist high horse, the more ways of entry into fB the better. Not everyone who starts using fB may have coded before.

So what you understand by computers are console applications and command line tools? Then maybe Jofers isn't the one who shouldn't be making applications...

...or perhaps people who pile unnecessary work upon themselves shouldn't code. If you think having a computer do the work for you is (somehow) offensive, then you "should" be poking holes in punch cards. If I could, I'd use every resource available to me to code faster and more completely, and not be satisfied until I'm making programs with my brain waves alone.

VonGodric: Do you have a website/webpage for the IDE? I had a look around your site but didn't see anything, perhaps some screenshots/info would help people know what they are downloading who aren't reading everything here?

I think it's a great idea too. More people are going to use FB if it's easy to get started with... and now with the plethora of problems using QB under WinXP, it will be easier for new programmers to get started with FreeBasic than with QBasic! :bounce:
