more car stuff

its supposedly some type of sensor that controlls how much fuel gets sent to the injectors or something, and it always seems like its not getting enough fuel, but @ low revs, if its not getting enough fuel it dies, wich makes taking off in 1st a bit of an art

OK, then, could be an airflow sensor, an oxygen sensor, throttle position, or temperature sensor. Maybe a few others, too. Smile
BTW, whadddid I tell ya, eh? Smile Starved for fuel, just like I said. Wink

Smile Hmm, check your airfilter, might not be getting enough air also..

Then again, getting a starved-for-fuel diagnosis doesn't help all that much. It rules out the trans, but with modern engines and electronic fuel injection, there are a whole glut of things that can go wrong. Used to be that if your engine wasn't getting enough fuel, it would be either a blockage, fuel pump or carb problem.

Anyway, is your Check Engine light coming on? If so, have a mechanic read the computer diagnosis codes to see where the electronic problem is. For instance if the oxygen sensor is dead, the computer would look at it and see a bad reading, and therefore trigger the Check Engine light and store a fault code in the engine's computer for mechanics to read. However if the cylinders ARE starved for fuel, it isn't likely to be an oxygen sensor, because when they go they usually give an (incorrect) too-lean-fuel-mixture reading, and make the computer actually inject TOO MUCH fuel, rather than too little.

hmmm... well i'm gonna have it fixed monday, the chek engine light is coming on, so, yeah... i wonder if there's a way for me to "jack into" my car's computer and look @ the codes myself

There is a way, but you have to shell out a few hundred bucks for a code reader and booklet.
Basically it's a little handheld digital unit that plugs into a port in the engine's computer under the hood while the engine is running. If there are NO codes to be read, a "clear code" appears, which means there's nothing wrong that the computer can detect. If there ARE codes, they appear on the digital display on the handheld unit. Then you look in a codes book that corrosponds to your car, and find the code (which is a number, incidentally) in the book. Then the book tells you what the code means (oxygen sensor, temp sensor, etc.).

:???: Could be carbinated plugs, my Jeep has a bad problem with them at times,. causes it to stall if I don't get on the gas right.. but I burn out for real when this happens, in my feild that is..

That's a spark problem usually caused by a too-rich fuel mix getting in. Too much gas in there burns wrong, and carbons up the cylinders and plugs. Another telltale sign is a rattle, generally means there's a carbon particle in your cylinders that isn't getting pushed out through the exhaust. Black exhaust usually means too-rich as well.
"The Rich Law":
[Black exhaust]+[Check Engine Light]+[Rattle]=[Too Rich]
Of course some of those symptoms, may not appear, and extra ones are always possible.

Its a old 85 AMG 4cyl, havn't had the money to work on it, but the seal between the carb and the airfilter is damaged... it causes iregular air flow.. I prob got srewwed up fuel flow too, its FarmUse right now anyway.. ..

PS its spelled "Camry", it can be rescrambled into "My Car", take a look.

Hope you get it fixed.
