FB superior to C++, are we talking power or which one is easiest to use?
Could i write the programs in QB and compile them in FB?

ya you could use the QB IDE but there are some different's regarding gfx's and some hardware tricks that you can do is dos you can't in fb. but if you stick with pure qb fb should compile is simi fine might have to tweak the code here and there

In which aspect? At least not speedwise.
Even with a simple "-03 -march=i686" I get code that is way faster.

Umm...we shouldnt be really comparing both of them. GCC is a very mature compiler while FB is QUITE new

So what?
What has that got to do with anything? If you think that age has a direct reflection on quality, then you are sadly mistaken. Just look at Visual Basic. That's from a very old line of compilers. But I think freeBasic is better than the final incarnations spewed out by Microsoft. And freeBASIC is...free and written by one person.
Personally, I think the fact that people are actually comparing fB to GCC is awesome. Not something that should be put down like you've done in your usual one-liner + quote + emote formula.

right...would you compare the Unix platform with the Windows platform? Which one would you consider more 'stable'? and which one would you consider more 'mature'?

From what I've seen, it matches power, and is better and easier to get used to if you a QBer... so yeah, its better...
