neato, though form a realistic point of view your fps should be renamed to points per second not frames per second as i wouldn't call setting a pixel per second a frame Smile

Nice Circle....to bad I couldn't see the program do it...still don't have FB Cry ....But soon! I'm almost done the core to SpaceMerc.

you QB users that still kling to dieing language why don't you simple stop fearing change and move over to FB so we can finely just cut the life support that is keeping QB alive and let it die with dignatey.

i would gladly move over to FB, but i am going to get my own computer (eventually) and move on to c++ or java or somrthing like that, and really only treat QB as a building block (a floppy sized one at thatBig Grin) for bigger, better anf FASTER things.

People who say QB is slow, i have played a load of qb games which are to fast on my computer, i cannot move because i die... :oops:

Smile To shadow: Hmm, you got a point, but there are still some who have to use QB, like darkjay.. Mitth just wants SpaceMerc out the way and finished b4 he moves on..

To thedarkjay: The problem with QB is not its speed, its the userbility of the IDE and what it compiles.. what works for you on your comp, most of the time now won't work for some1 else... :wink:

QB (FB) a building block!!!!! :o , in ways yes, but 2many discard it as some simple little language, do you know (looked this up) that Basic in programing terms was the most advance language (still is with FB) from its use of standard english commands...... :wink: .. and FB takes it to bigger better and faster things, it runs OpenGL just the same as C++!!!

Learn C++, you can make money with that, maybe you'll program the next NeedForSpeed, or be part of the next big RPG.. but Basic is more than a building block, :wink: , remember that, aye?

You can optimize that effect thingy by using lookup tables. It'll go way faster.

[EDIT] I knew I'd seen that effect before! It looks like relsoft's FB torus example! The only difference is the colours, no smoothing, and you don't clear the screen. Plus you don't use TinyPTC. Other than that...

Smile Heh, its 1 PSET, if I clear, it wouln't look half as pretty..

I'm embarking on 3D, so I havn't got to lookup tables, what are they BTW, you on TYPEs or something? :???:
