Hey now, who was that directed at? :rotfl:

@Rattra: I think I agree with you here. I've had too many people (including many of my friends... :p ) say things like (this is just an example) "if someone uses IE instead of firefox when they're AWARE of the fact that FF is technically better, then they're too set in their ways and their attitude is weak, etc..." and even things like "that's like someone being opposed to human evolution".
Okay, well, I've told this following bit to them countless times, and they still don't seem to get it, but I'll post it here anyway...
The browser someone uses does not affect your life. Get the fuck over it. If they prefer their 'inferior browser' for whatever reason, they most certainly do not have a 'weak' attitude. Not everyone is going to embrace something immediately and wholeheartedly just because it's new and they're told it's better. Doesn't work that way.
Firefox may grow on me over time... And let me say right now that I KNOW it's technically better than IE. I can't get used to firefox, and that may seem like an indescribably STUPID reason to you, but hey, it doesn't affect you one bit... So just shut up.

to be fair, my comment wasn't directed at the users. i'm just saying that it was "designed" for idiots. if you've ever had to do tech sup. you'd know. constant calls about: "I don't see the mailbox, how do i get my mail." and "how do i go to a site?". it's ridiculous. and don't get me wrong, i'm not sayin that the person is an idiot, they are just computer-idiots. =P

and i agree with josiah here about the firefox thing. just because something is technically better, doesn't mean you need to convince everyone else to use it. nobody made you the browser police so back off zealots! Wink

Ah ha! I leave for a few days and i find a nice "this browser is better than that one" war! *rubs hands*

I used to use internet explorer, but switched to firefox. Why?

1. Unlike some people, i don't really feel like having hundreds of different windows open when i want to read a new page without changing the one i'm currently on... at times i can have 10-20 pages up, freebasic, 2-3 folders. If i was using IE, my start bar would be crammed full, but since firefox can open in tabs, i find it much more organized.

2. better spyware, adware protection. Ever since i revamped my security on my computer, i've come up with 0 in my spyware scans. Mozilla firefox was one of the solutions. Of course, this is probably because most spyware isn't made for FF, but no matter... Not to mention that Firefox has much better pop-up control. Sure, IE has some, but not very good pop-up control. And since Firefox doesn't support active-x (unless you download a plug-in like neptune) you don't need to worry about active-x stuff being installed on your computer.

3. Foxytunes! It's a very nice plug-in that's basically a remote control for your music player. Foxytunes supports most, and allows you to control your music (volume, track, play, stop, pause, etc. etc.) without having to minimize FF.

Those are basically the reasons why i like FireFox... But don't expect me to put up "Firefox" banners in my sig Whitetiger!! Wink

Barok: Just so long as you don't try to force me to use FF or say I'm inferior because I use IE, I'll be happy. Wink I myself have even acknowledged the fact that FF is technically superior... But I'm happy how I am, thanks. Tongue
