most tile size go by ^2 because in the display loops the compiler can optimize with shifts .

hes talking about tile sizes being a power of 2... usually like 8x8, 16x16, 32x32, 64x64, ja know?

ok, i asked about shades, then he said that and i got confused...any-hoo i sorta have a style i use for tiles.

That grass tile doesn't look like grass, it looks like some bright green plastic with bits of brighter plastic on it.

2 things:

a) i did it with the idea of porting it into a screen 12 16 bit data command in mind, there is a better pne, but for the style of game i'm working on at the moment it fits the bill quite well (the charecters are as yellow as lego men)

b) i'm no tile artist

The stuff I'm looking for is like the stuff found in Tales of Alunia by Fenris Productions.

PxP movement and scrolling, etc. You know the drill.
