fbc 0.13b download

Is there a chance for me to get smaller fbc 0.13b download package?

Using dail-up internet connection, it make fbc download is a scary thing.

It would be nice if there a smaller 'main' package that only containing fbc, win32, tinyptc, opengl and dx includes & libs and separate download for gfx, sdl, wxwindow and other big libs because not all users using those libs.

I've yet able to download v 0.13b successfully due to failed in middle of downloading a huge file. I think I might give it up for another download failure.

that is not much different that downloading the whole package, since it does not compress the selected download files. Probably, it will much eficient if the tool is on the fbc server which is take the advantages of compression lib. Something like tsunami database download webpage where selected options is compressed before download.

fbASS downloads compressed data.

FB official package is 30mb.

If you download the full package using fbASS it's 4mb, about 1.5mb larger than the install package from FB.NET


Minimal download/install using fbASS is a few hundred Kb


And with fbASS you can select exactly what you want..


Nex time, before trying to pimp random stuff, atleast try the suggessted program, or you risk looking stupid.

I've never once been able to complete download with fbASS so I don't know if the file compressed or not. It's good if other can used this nice tools with better internet connection, but I'm no pimp or say something bad about it. Infact, it's look good and a high quality piece of software.

for a minority (dail-up users), just hoping it's something there at the fb server could help us.

zydon, fbASS is made for modem users.

Download it (sure, it's quite big, around 100k if i dont remember wrong)

And select minimal package..


You cant get it smaller, it download compressed files and unpacks/installs them for you.


It is also able to continue, so you can download one file at a time if you want (it cannot continue on partial files, sorry)

If your on faulty dialup then get a download manager now, my favourite is download mage (free, ~250kb). After that you can download parts of FreeBasic at a time, and it wont ruin the download.
