i think perhaps (dont know what else it could be) that when youre compiling the exe is ending up in another directory. try moving the exe to where it needs to be before running it...

hmm, i must not express myself clearly enough :-? . If i run the exe from the directory *EVERYTHING WORKS FINE* However, when i press F9 in Fbide .4, it doesn't work. So it makes an exe that *DOES* work, but it runs one that *DOESN'T*. Hope you understand what i'm saying. And it really is important either, since the only person who would experience the error would be the coder, me.

then obviously your problem is that fbide is not creating / running the temp exe in the right directory. i personally havent downloaded it yet, but i would assum there is some sort of path you can set as a default location for this kind of hing to happen.

:rotfl: this is the weirdest thing....now it works! I quick ran it (F5) and that worked, so i tried F9 again and it worked....strange :o
