i know , i know. this id just one of those things that drills into my head. shouldn't this be the 2004'th year being as we have not completed the 2005'th year yet.

that person isn’t going to sit down with a piece of paper and pencil and figure: hey, the years 0-99 are actually the first century and 100-99 are blah,blah... ...

What you said right there is really dumb, if you will excuse me.

0-99 was the first set of 100 years in AD. So naturally, it is the first century.

The first person to cross the finish line in a race isnt the 0th person. They are the first. You just dont quite grasp the concept of why it is called the first century.

all im saying is it sounds better. but if thats the way it goes then that's just the way it goes.

Unfortunately in life, the best course of action is not always the one that sounds the nicest or looks the best. But when you look at it from a logical perspective, it only makles sense.
