Quote:Doom doesnt run on linux :PActually it does. I've played the Doom III demo on Linux - it runs at the same fps as on Windows (if you're using nVidia's graphics drivers). Download the demo from here, for Windows, *Linux*, and Macintosh: ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/doom3/

Quote:It'd have been cheaper if you didn't buy winXP pro and just got linux. =Pyes, but i prefer a decent OS, not some stupid knock off (knows what he is asking for). Not to mention, there are thousands of apps and games that do not work on linux and do not have a decent parallel. I could have also just used my win 2k pro, but my dad wanted win xp pro, and so we got it. And it was only $140 thanks to newegg. edit, just so you know, I am not a microsoft fanboy and I do not have any love for their OS. I just do not believe that linux is a viable alternative for my needs. |
