Well, if you want to increase punctuation affection, I've got just one word... Perl!

You do know that there is a post *subject* too, don't you?

Not 100% true. In a lot of cases EMS can be faster than XMS.

Quote:I don't want to have an array in conventional allocated just for the transfer of my data from XMS. In EMS, you can store the data on the 64KB page frame allowing direct access to the information without moving it to conventional. I was wondering if you can do that with XMS. I'm not too familiar with memory yet, I just started using it, so I might be way off here
You can't. As XMS would need the XMS manager to handle the memory moves.
I'm sending you the inhouse version of Rellib. :*)

Rel: I don't have an e-mail address that works. And what's an "inhouse" version? Is there new features? :bounce:

Yep, an inhouse version is a release for developers and backups. And some ppl I like to spam. :*)
Yeah as of now...
1. Fixed the stupid relget bug.
2. Flipped sprite routines
3. Recoded my Boxes to support true clipping w/o using a per pixel check thereby optimizing it greatly.
4. Water simulation
5. DDA rotozoomer
6. Some of Toonski's sprite routines.
BTW, I'll try to recode XMSPut so that you could store all your tiles to XMS and use XMS to PUT your sprites to a layer.
I think that's and efficient method of conserving memory as all the tiles would be on XMS thereby saving you a lot of base mem.

That's a great idea! the XMS Put! That's what I was trying to figure out how to do. And what's going on with FJ? Last time I saw it, you were almost done.

I liked spam better when it was something that came in a can.
Windows should be defenestrated.

Yeah, I had a working XMS put routine which BTW, is faster than DQB but my old 486 crashed and the remaining routine is buggy so I might as well rewrite it from scratch. :*)
FJ, depends on what AAP wants to add.
