If you use RAR, then just specify a volume size of 1.457.664 bytes, and... tada! You got a "virtual diskette".

Ok.
Once you've selected the files to be compressed, you add files to an archive, right? Then (for this case in particular) - File format: RAR - Compression method: Best - Volume size: 1.457.664 - 3.5" - Check "Create solid archive" -Then- you push OK. RAR will make various files with a size of 1.44MB max, using the best compression. Solid archive helps compression when there are several small files.

Tell winRAR that you want files to put on floppies so it breaks it up for you... or use one of the numerous other utilities that do the same thing. My favorite is Chunks.exe

Raring the diskettes won't help. You need to have at least one of them bootable in MSDOS and with the ability to install the MSDOS system files. You better look for diskette images (*.IMG) in the internet. Then with RAWRITE or another imaging utility you can make your own diskettes out of the IMG files.
