Quote:Well you see, replcaing a mouse means paying money, and fixing requires someone other then me or my uncle. Here's the story why:

Why Axipher sucks at fixing things Wrote:It was a rainy day outside and my uncle had 2 computers, one had a working version of Windows 98, while the other had Windows 2000 and we didn't have the password, so to start off, we decide to try switching hard drives and it doesn't work, so as were putting the Windows 2000 hard drive back in it's rightful computer, I put the power supply in backwards and a loud buzz occurs, not bothering to check what it was I close up the computer then turn it on and a loud boom followed by smoke emmits from the computer. I fried the hard drive, there is now no more need for a password to get on, now it just needs a new set of circuits. Then a week later, I am at my uncle's house and one of the builder's hardwired a 6 outlet plug into the wall, thinking it was just plugged in, my uncle tries to pull it out. It doesn't want to come out so he decides to grab a screwdriver and try to pry it out, big bang and smoke yet again, deja vu??? Well fuse was blown and we figured out that it was hardwired into the wall

Long story short, fixing electronics isn't my best bet, although I know what I am doing and can uide someone else, tools are better left out of my hands, yet I am going to college to be a electrician...

That made my day a little bit better. Smile Thanks for the comic relief. Sucks about the drive though...

Well for thw small price of 5 minutes and hours of laughter, He got a new HD from my mom and we installed Windows XP on it and took the extra memory from the Windows 2000 computer and put it in the better conmputer with Windows XP on it, so it all worked out for the better.

woah.. woah... woaaah!.. How did I miss THIS topic.

Few questions.
1) Don't blame hardware. Blame Microsoft.... It makes youself look less silly (believe it or not)
2) How do you put a PSU in backwards.. I don't even see how that's possible..
3) "I put the power supply in backwards and a loud buzz occurs," WHAT THE HECK!?!? Did you not even unplug it??
4) If you didn't.. it explains what happens to you HD.
5) "yet I am going to college to be a electrician..." "Well fuse was blown and we figured out that it was hardwired into the wall"
6) You laughed at a dead HD... sheesh I almost cried when one of mine started clicking and then died.
7) .. are you -sure- you killed the HD? PSU might have friedn first =p.
8) I recommend one thing.. ground your outlets.
9) "Replcaing a mouse means paying money," is a wireless mouse really needed..? You can get wired ball mice for like.. $0.30 >_<
10) Kizzard, what have I told you about eating your face.
11) axipher, get a bootdisk then format.
12) "but why would you want to format your HD anyway, simply installing Windows XP deletes all files anyway." Format does not mean delete all files. Deleting all files.. means deleting all files. When you format you also lose the filesystem and EVERYTHING is cleared. When you install over it you might get a fragmented HD =p

That's it. Seeyas =p

Blaming Microsoft is what every dipshit who doesn't understand their computer does. Blaming hardware when it's actually a hardware issue is what smart people do. Blaming Microsoft when it's a hardware problem means you're a clueless n00b.
