when you dig out an emulator and start playing some of those 'classic' games of the 80's you realise just how sh1t they were. im sure the ratio was much worse in the old days, but time adds a sheen to old memorys.

Im not sure what you mean my "sh1t". Does it mean, "That game is the sh1t!!", or "That game is sh1t"

Oh well, I happen to prefer the old Open DOS and Play games, like Commanche. That way you dont have to dish out a lot of money for a computer that can support all the high quality games that are coming out. Plus Commanche was really fun...
ew music sucks huge (except for S O A D) and GreenDay is the worst out of all of them.

Classic Rock all the way w00t!!!

Quote:Nearly every PC I've been on does not support EMS - but XMS was supported by all of them...
Heh, this is a problem these days...XMS 2.0 is supported by NTVDM (3.0 apparently isn't though), but ever since the 386, EMS is emulated thru XMS since actual physical EMS hardware was a 286 thing and isn't supported on the 386 iirc...plus EMS needs a pageframe and apparently, modern computers have so many bloody devices that eat up that memory space that the computer just can't set up the pageframe for EMS to work. At least this is how I understand the situation...I could be wrong. Big Grin

Alot of my favourite games are the 'classics games'. Back then, games were real games, gamers were real gamers, and geeky programmers living in their parents basements were real geeky programmers living in their parents basements. Wink j/k.

Seriously though, alot of the old classics rock. Why do you think there are alot of remakes out there?

Rename this post to be "You know you're playing an old QB game when..."

Though to be fair, some of them apply to many games. It's quite difficult to get a lot of old DOS games running on a modern PC, especially in the late dos era when a lot of crazy pmode stuff was done to get everything working.

One exception is Zone 66, an incredible game I couldn't play until the dosbox era. Smile

Find a modern game that's funnier than r-type, tetris, breakout, gauntlet or street fighter. And until you do, shut the fuck up Tongue
