Just in case any are not aware, you can check you maximim Broadand speed by visiteng below if in the UK. It is not always made clear you can only get the wonderfull 8 Mb if you are lucky enought to live fairly close to an exchange. Also anything over about 1 Mb may not make always make a lot of differnces when up/downloading as lot depends of the speed of the ohter server.

@yeti: I can't recommend a good ISP, but I can tell you that you're better slicing off your cajones then ever signing up with NTL. The speed is poor, the reliability bad, and the customer service ranges from atrocious to non-existant (40 mins on the phone 'on hold' ? Forget it) Don't be fooled by the cheapness. The only plus point is that there's no download cap.. when it works, that is.
Carphone Warehouse new 8Mb Talk-Talk deal looks interesting though.
