OpenGL or DirectX?
#21
Bass is essentially a wrapper for DirectSound with support for modules and OGG files (and in the last few versions, internet streaming audio too). It seems more of a library for MMPs than game use, although I use it for most of my Windows games. FMOD "seems like" more of a gaming-type sound library, especially since there are ports to all the major consoles in addition to being cross-platform for the PC (just like Bass).

Hard Rock: Bass also supports ogg mod files, but they still use the .mo3 extension.
I'd knock on wood, but my desk is particle board.
