SO.... as you may or may not know, I work at a GameStop. GameStop recently acquired (straight from Micro$oft themselves), PC Kiosks. These Kiosks run Windows XP, have a user name of "kiosk" and a password that is unknown to anyone except Microsoft. The computers are set to boot up and directly load software that disables the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys, Function keys, and all that mumbo jumbo, obviously, because the general public can access them.
So... Because I work at GameStop, and because I'm a computer nerd... and because there's a keyboard, mouse, and monitor just sitting there... I try to break it. And boy howdy did I break it. Second day we've had it, too. But I can't fix it. I managed to break out of the kiosk software, and for some reason it didn't even start Windows Explorer, so I loaded that, so I could get the start menu and stuff. I found the kiosk configuration utility and told it "don't start on boot." Which, naturally, should fix the problem... right? I also changed the password to "admin"... seeing as how we didn't know what the password was, and that was half the battle, I figured this was a smooth move... but no. Apparently the windows Administrator password and the kiosk password are one in the same. So by changing one, it changed the "auto entry" of the administrator password when the system booted up, therefore making access impossible... Needless to say, Micro$oft is the only one with the password, so I don't know it. We're going to try and get a password recovery disk tomorrow... but that's assuming the boss doesn't notice anything's wrong. I enabled the "Guest" account, so we can still log in and start the kiosk manually... but one of the game demo's doesn't work at all, and another one runs in windowed mode, so you can see the start menu... Hopefully we can fix it before he figures out anything.
Otherwise, we're just going to say "Some kid came in and messed with it." Because no matter how you slice it, I *am* some kid, and I *did* mess with it.
Long story short, I'm never going to try and hack any system ever again unless I know WTF I'm doing before hand. Hopefully I won't get fired.
(The best part is the Asst. Manager was behind me all the way-- he and I were working together, so his buddy is the one that's going to come in and retrieve the passwords, hopefully...)
Makes for a great story though

One night I had a dream where I was breaking balls. The next morning, BALLSBREAKER was born.
