THE SHUTTLE.... !!!!!

okay, i'll waltz up to front of the white house and tell my dumbass of a president to quit going to iraq. actually, so far millions of people have in protests, all over the country. but it doesnt matter. several of the people whos parents work at the air force base are just saying they've been waiting till the magic month of february to attack, when it's cold enough and anyone's opinion be damned. watch, some modern day "bay of tonka" excuse is going to come up, they're going to attack iraq, and then the middle east is going to be even more pissed off than it already is.

That's the downside. Iraq's been attacked two times. The third will be just the same. I'll tell you: Saddam will keep being the boss there. The population of Iraq will suffer EVEN MORE, if it is possible. The mideast will be REALLY PISSED OFF with the U.S.A., and that's not good for you 'cause of the fuel. Then, your soldiers will return home like in 1991 and 1997 and have deformed or cancerous children 'cause of the toxic gas inhalations.

Just tell me one single reason why the war is worth something.

woah, there, read my message again. i (and most of america) think the war is completely unjustified and useless. this is called 'dictatorship' - when a leader completely ignores the voice of the people and uses money and political influence to do what he pleases.

I'm with you. In spain happens right the same with the government. They have released some rules and laws which several big collectives considered abusives. Those collectives (among them students, where I am) have gone to strikes and protestations, but the government just ignored us.

I know that you, toonski, were against that stupid war. I was only claiming to every guy or girl who is for it Smile

And Shogun, you should be more respectful. Calling "dumb americans" is not very polite. You can bet that Toonksi and other friends of mine from the USA aren't dumb. Here or, why walking further, just here http://www.hulla-balloo.com.

In the site I found a really good quote, by Ghandi: "An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind". Wise.

Whether they're justified or not, you people seem completely unaware of the motives behind the war, choosing to assume instead that it's being started 'just for the hell of it' (the propaganda of the left-wing press) and therefore will be stopped because a lot of idealistic college students are marching...

When a country like the US or Britain possesses weapons capable of obliterating entire cities, it's scary, but those are advanced nations that are answerable to the rest of the world for their actions. If President Bush announced that he was going to nuke Ottawa, the entire world would unseat him from office. That is not something he wants, therefore he won't do it.

However, when less developed countries like Iraq and North Korea are suspected of possessing (or developing) such weapons, it's a much bigger problem. They can make a statement to the rest of the world by nuking another city... and the retribution that they face is 'worth it' in their mind for what they showed by flexing their apparent muscle.

Launching a nuclear bomb will have the same effect on either nation. The difference is that a 1st-world country would never consider it, while a desperate 3rd world country with an insane, power grubbing dictator just might.

The US has simply decided that they'd rather not wait for it to become "You give us what we want or Jerusalem becomes a crater"

edit: pardon the rant, no offense to anyone...

well, that's true, but if you look closely, iraq has no nukes. they could never build a nuke. to do so you need money, technology, resources and a delivery system and iraq has none of those. they did come close way a while ago but israel bombed the craptapola outta 'em, and after the gulf war and clinton's bombing runs in the late 90s they dont have near enough of any of the 4 requirements to produce a nuclear bomb. and believe or not, but tom clancy makes stealing nukes from a russion general sound much easier than it actually is. if it was, we'd be dead right now.
