How long did it take you to learn QBasic?

You are all dying, and will probably die before the BASIC qmunity do.

So what if it "dies" the only reason it would die was if no-one was interessted in it anymore. And I'm sorry to say, if you keep spreading "QB IS DYING!" then you get less people interessted, thus it will really be dying.

Just have fun with it, just because noone else use it, who says you can't. None of my friends use QB in their programming, they constanly pick on me for using a "dead, old clumsy, slow aso..." language that "sucks big time", so what? I don't care, I find basic to be the easiest language around and it is a lot of fun, I have still to come across a program that can NOT be made in BASIC (You CAN make a Q3 clone, just use inline assembler, and NO I'm not saying it would be fast)

It's like the C people "we love the trash handling of C" yeah, cause it is a highway to lazy programming... "damn, i forgot to free the memory handler... aww.. wtf... I'm just gonna ignore it.... the compiler will handle it anyways" yeay, great programming.....


C is a dying language.
C++ is a dying language.
C# is a dying language.
VB is a dying language.
[insert programing language here] is a dying language.


But they will live for as long as there is interesst, not commercial value... I have an interesst in QB, do you?

I would agree that most lanquages are dying; that is why i have got my self a basic knowledge of many lanquages; so that I can look at the code of any lanquage and get an idea of how to use it; with the exception of machine code which is next to imposs to use in my experience...
Anyway's I have basic knowledge about these lanquages:
ASM
C++
Perl
Vbasic
DarkBasic
PHP
ASP
Xlang

And a more in depth konwledge of qbasic. I been using this for about 4/5 years now so...
I also find that nowadays I asking complicated question's, ones that I seem to never find the answer to like ones about xms!

Xlang; a gui script lanquage used for xgui.

I know how that feels. :lol: i picked up qbasic in like a day after i made some crappy games in ti-basic. i had some sweet ol' times on that 83+. i never really LEARNED it, rather i made like 3 crappy minigames i never finished, and kinda started VB. now, i program in VB 6 and VB .net
