How long did it take you to learn QBasic?
#1
This isn't a competition, I just want to know how long it should take me.

P.S. When I say 'learn qbasic' , I mean learn all the basic stuff, or all the stuff in a QB book, etc...

I learned BASIC using the quick reference card that came with my TRS-80...took about an hour, I think, but I was young, and ready to learn. Today it'd probably take a bit longer. Not much though, since BASIC isn't exactly the language of the beast. Smile

I have a book 140 pages long. It covers everything from the REM and Print statement to arrays to procedures to disc filing. How long should I spend on it? A week, a month, a few months?

it depends... do u have any programming experience at all?
i never could find motivation to read a book straight through. ive only had one book and it was more or a reference. perhaps thats why. spend as much time as you want... you can always go back and look up stuff or something. yea.

I'm the exact same. I never said it here cause i figured people would frown on me for not being motivated to read the book. Maybe i'll just stick with what I know, make some text games, and see where that takes me.

not recently. i havent programmed in a loong time. so yea. ive been really busy with school. yep. im only in 8th grade. but its getting easier. i usually started games but never came close to finishing. im exactly what u dont want to turn out like. my brother on the other hand excels in programming. at least to my knowledge and we're twins. go figure....
