It's hard, but not impossible to someone who has a deep understanding of math. That's just real demo coding, Check out the intros here http://www.scene.org/tips.php, all 64kb or less. It's nothing new. Why doesn't comercial games use it? Becuase it takes too much effort to develop such a thing, it takes too long to load, and it takes a lot more resources since a lot of the things that are precalculated in games have to be calculated in realtime. Especially memory. And one the top reasons is that it's a lot more static and infelxible. The golden rule of optimisation will always be true, what you gain in size, you lose in speed.
