Yeah, I've seen 64 Kb demoes with such kind of scenes/textures/meshes. All generated mathematically. This is just genius' work. I'll try it in my desktop comp when I get home, this portable doesn't want to run it Sad. Maybe the portable radeon I have here is not "enough" Tongue It just exits while loading.

After much hesitating and wondering whether or not to trust my virus scan results, I opened the program.
Quit with a self-generated error after the harddrive chruned away for a few minutes.
And if something like this can be done in 96 k, why don't commercial games like doom 3 use this method?
From the screenies it looks nearly as good as plenty of released or even not-yet-released commercial games today.
Frankly, I'm very skeptical. :normal:

that muffer takes a ton of ram. it's crazy, but it's massivly impractical. it's a cool idea, but it'd be better as a 10 meg d/l with some external textures.
games like doom 3 spend a ton of time on the ambiant sounds and higher detail. it looks good, but it sucks resourcs away. an external loader is much more practical, especially if it should be edited. think of editing all those algorithms. thats just awful. also, loading times would be crazy. this game can't stream maps and textures efficently, as everything is stored directly to ram and has to be recalculated if it needs to be changed.

Well, that's the price to pay. It's just a cool idea and a nice challenge.

Those 64Kb demoes I talk about before are really cool, not resource hogs at all. I'll try to locate them and post them for your enjoyment.

Looks awesome. And only 96k -- my first thought was it must be an ASM guru, but it's all in C++. Sadly though, it doesn't run at all on my pc -- just crashes. It crashes kind of cool though.

hey z!re, you wouldn't be the computer technichian at my school, would you?

he showed me the demo wednesday. even on the computer's new computers (2.8 ghz i think) it was kinda choppy. it was sweet, but sadly short though. plus the sounds sucked. no explosions when you fire the grenade launcher. but for 96 k, hey! i'm not complaining!
