Have you even take a look at the link I put up a few posts back? It clearly says you may use the icons supplied with ms visual studio, but under there license agreement. And when you use a borland development set wel I don't think the ms license covers that part.

And ofcourse I don't think ms will make a big fuzz about you using one or two of there icons, but when you develop software for a living (like I do) that sells for 10.000+ euro, then your boss will not find it amusing when you put copyrighted materials in it.

Well, it's subjective. I'm talking those little 16x16 images that have been there since 1991. Those are the only icons I would think a person could even need sans artistic things such as logos. I can understand a copyright violations notice on say, the more fanciful icons that have popped up in more recent versions of microsoft products, but you could fire a gun blind in a computer store and hit a product that uses those crappy little icons, and I doubt any of them pay licensing fees. Why not use 'em?
