Darkbasic is not free. And I would not spend my time learning a scripting language. But if you want, you better get the Quake III engine and learn QuakeC... That engine is way better (and faster) than DarkBasic.

RapidQ. Free and has some(little) interface(Wrapper) in DX. Might wanna try it. :*)

You offered Turing as an option!
That was created in Toronto...And I though secluded to there (well, actually, HERE) only. I've searched for hours on google for anything to do with Turing. That was the first language I learned.

That was a bit off-topic, I know, but I couldn't resist :bounce:
