new gfxlib documentation
#21
Quote:aetherfox: I'd suggest you wait a couple of more days and wait for the official release... I may modify the docs a bit for 0.11.
BLOAD and BSAVE will probably be included, and maybe BLOAD will support .bmp files too.

Antoni: you don't have a message box in Linux as you have one in Win32... So making it portable would be hard. I'll think about it, but don't be sure it'll be added...

Maybe I missed it, but I think you forgot to mention the difference with the array order (column order in QB, row order in fB) in the GET/PUT sections.

Appart from that, the documentation is truly awesome. Don't forget to tell jofers to include it in his documentation project.

Hi lillo,

I am interested in german translation and had started a german website to get that done. I am not familiar with the .chm format, I don´t think I could easily integrate it to a website.
So it would be nice to have a html Version of your doc. Hoping some german help translating. I don´t think I can do that alone...(as there are many things I don´t understand really being a beginner in basic and as it´s much)
In the end I think, all the stuff done here should go back to a main-documentation-project to be integrated.

Hi, lillo
Your lib seems to give a more blur GFX than SC's one. This is obvoius in my win98 (800*600*24) especially on the last character in my project. How can I get a sharp display? Thanx
forget to mention and thanks for this sweet change: the window title is set to program name automatically

Same here. But if you Alt+Enter to full screen, the text is nice and sharp again. Windows XP, FB 0.11b

I think it has to do with DirectX and modern (3D accelerated) videocards. I get the same thing. The blur may be due to the video card. Maybe it can be turned off somehow.

I think that it could be given by a non-correctly sized viewport in the program window. I.e. the program client area and the buffer don't have the same size, so DirectX has to resize the buffer and you get that burriness.

Just a guess.

Hi

I'll investigate in this blurring effect you're talking about... btw, I'm particularly interested on how the lib performs in different color depth situations: I'd like to know if there are visual problems (colors swapped for example) while running FB gfx programs using different color depths while in windowed modes over a desktop set at 8, 15, 16, 24 and 32bit depth.
This way I can ensure the color converters all work properly, so I can code MMX versions for the next release (currently using C routines)...

Thanks.
I am going to vacation for traditional Chinese Spring Festival, so can not offer help to test the lib.

Happy lunar new year, everybody, although it is some days early Wink
