:o Okay, you have said some things that made me stop dead in my tracks... You looking at a car NUT!!!! I have loads of racecars games, SNES, PSX, PS2...
As for racing physics, to get that to a T, its different for different cars, so you got some research on that,.. on GT3, they had computers, cars, test tracks, hours of tests...(Japan is great when it comes to detail!) So to "The car",.. like that username,. there is alot more than books, but you'll have better gounds for a car game with that math tho don't get me wrong, keep reading but research too..
(You can also find Car & Driver mags and get alot of the other stuff I typed about)
Looking good, 3D, you need alot of parts that move, the wheels, they turn, the fronts angle to alow turning... and the body sways and leans thru G force and trust...
As for A.I., set them up to have to go thru the same crap the player has to go thru.. this is what makes GT3 so great,. the comps arn't 100% perfect,... they're right slow, I can nail a comp on hard by 3sec in the same car.. oh well.. I only beat one of the top times on the recorded ones, they where real ppl I'm sure, to fast 4 a comp..
ne way, I'll finish my comments tomorow.. ,. I'm tiered!
EDIT: Next day:
, Okay, wide awake today... That above post is for what you were taking bout "3D racing game with real game physics" or The Car adding in the idea of physics...
As for were I can help out, if you guys are serious, I could design the cars for the game, uless you wount to use real life cars, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bugatti(deff that one, Veyron model), or/and what ever else you can come up with... But still, I could throw in for stats of such cars and more...
Oh, b4 I forget.. you got the math in the physic part of the game, but there is more, you got to calculate enigine RPM, gear ratios, tire diamiter, power,.. all this for more simulated fxs,. corse you could chose to leave this part out, but it adds in making your game a jaw dropper...
Theres my comments,.. oh and as for Groov Buggies,. nice game, but it lacks in simulation and the computers are too perfect.. also when a car slides, it doesn't slow down like that game suggested,.. it will decrease speed, but fully in my testing it, it stops the car where it should break all control and skid into the wall at almost full speed.
