Anything by god himself, Mr. Hayao Miyazaki, absolutely rocks. This includes from its first work as a director, gurai no shounen Conan (Future Boy Conan - my favourite piece of animation of all time, only paired by Captain Harlock by Reiji Matsumoto) to Chihiro's Trip (dunno if this is the title in English). This includes Nausicaa from the Wind Valley, Laputa, Porco Rosso, Totoro, Princess Mononoke...

Btw,

Quote:(or animé, as a whole lot of us call it these days, you know?)

It's not that the whole of us call it these days that way, but that it is called that way. Animé is how japanese people refer to cartoons. In general, not just japanese cartoons.

It's like when someone says "I like manga". Manga is kinda "comic" in japanese, so that guy is speaking in japenglish and saying just "I like comics". The correct way would be "I like japanese comics".

But hey Tongue

I haven't seen "Princess Mononoke" yet, but it is on my list of must-see animation.
ature has its way of warning a person away from danger: The distinct black and white coloration on a skunk, the chilling buzz of a rattlesanke, a redneck handing you his beer and saying "Watch this!"

To Na_th_an and Steven_basic, and to all of you again as well:

In all uncompromised honesty, you know what I personally think about Hayao Miyazaki? I believe he is SUCH AN ALL-GRANDEST LIVING AND BREATHING LEGEND where Japanese animation (and even *all* animation, too!) is concerned, people!!! Period forever. d=Big Grin=b

And hey, he was spectactularly so awesome in writing and directing such mega-great works for Studio Ghibli as Laputa: Castle in the Sky, Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind, My Neighbor Totoro, and several others, with his most recent film currently out just since late 2004 entitled Howl’s Moving Castle, based on the 2000 fantasy novel by Britain’s well-famous author Diana Lynne Jones herself (believe it or not!!). Wink

For a real splendidly good history of the ultimate animé legend of Mr. Hayao Miyazaki himself (as well as a fine glimpse of him, too!), then please go here right now. There, you will find all you need to know about the wonderful guy including his manga works, his biography, his personal views, and so many more!!! Cool

Also, if you like to check out the *official* Studio Ghibli site (Japanese-language only!), it is http://www.ntv.co.jp/ghibli/.

Catch you again later, and I just had to give some great stuff about Mr. Miyazaki himself to you now. :king:=b !
