I have a proposition to make...

There is no fucking reason to post that huge sprite and everyone's doing it AND ITS F.U.C.K.ING BEGINNING TO PISS ME OFF.

Sorry to break it to you, but no corporate identity will want a site that looks like that. I am not saying it is bad, but it's definately not something that is going to be what a site willing to pay $150 will be looking for.

This is not going to happen for you in two months. If you consider this as a long term option, then you need to master the following:
- XHTML 1.0 Strict
- CSS 2.0
- Combine the above to make table-less, compliant websites.
- PHP
- The innerds of most account management software
- How to setup and administer the majority of the more common scripts.

The best webdesigners in the industry do that, and so should you, if you want anything.

If worse comes to worse and you can't be bothered to do the above, go to your Church (I remember you are religious), and ask them if they want a website.

Well, it's certainly true that no corporate identities wouldn't want a site like that... but then again, how many of those are here? Now, not to say I couldn't make one of that nature (perhaps I should make something like that one day just so I can have something to back myself up), but like I said in the beginning, I'm pretty confident that if you want it, I can make it. And on a side note to everyone, QBC is a WIP right now, so I swear that the site won't look that plain when it's complete. I'm happy with how things are going now, but don't form any final opinions on that screenshot... =]

And no. I don't go to church.

Why not try taking a train or Greyhound instead of an airplane? Around the time you want to go, a plane ticket is going to be horribly expensive. I took a train from Florida to West Virginia once, and it was much cheaper than by plane. Also, is street vending allowed where you live? In this heat you can easily make $100 on a hot weekend selling water at a traffic light. Other ideas are dog walking and bathing, car washing, lawn mowing etc. It's stuff you can do right now and make the money, right now.

Oh I almost forget, make maybe 3 example sites at least, complete with content, and store them online somewhere for people to look at and say, wow, this guy knows his stuff. Showing someone a WIP of a site in context they can't understand is not going to help your cause.

Oh, and what Rhia said Big Grin

i don't think webdesign is really the way to go here. nobody will pay more than $10 for something like that, especially if you don't flash a degree in they're face.

however, i once had to raise $250.00 last summer, and i did it with a combination of guitar lessons out of my basement and street vending (right on!). you would be simply amazed how many people will buy a plastic cup of lemonade for $0.50 in any marketplace on a hot day.

You could always try to sell something crazy on Ebay - look how much that person made from the virgin mary grilled cheese sandwich....

Ask your parents.

Yah, I know.. but you'd be amazed sometimes...

Out of the blue I asked my mum, who is the most anti-technology person in the freakin' world!, if she knew of any job openings.

I was expecting something along the lines of picking potatoes (quite common thing to do here, and it sucks so damn hard it's insane)

I got a job as a computer tech, all I do is sit at home until they call me, then I go there THE NEXT DAY, and fix whatever problem they might have with whatever computer.

I have a fixed salary of ~$1000 a month, plus$100 per computer I have to fix in base pay, and an additional $20 per hour I spend working on them.

All in all, it's pretty good money.

Kind of makes me wonder what else my mum knows that she isnt telling me.. I bet she's holding a lottery ticket, with a $50'000'000 win.. I just have to ask the right question...

Hmm... "Is the sun shining?"

Ya, I'll go for that...

Anyways, ask around, people you know, friends etc (preferably "grown-ups" Tongue )

All those ideas were great, but unfortunately, none of them still work. Greyhound was a genius idea, but after checking them out, their service doesn't seem to go to Alaska. And I'm having zero luck with finding a way to get train tickets (I know AK has the famous Alaska Railroad, but I'm not sure if it's for travel, or if it leaves Alaska in the first place).

But, I might stick with that same method, only go to Pennsylvania instead, which would be an equal place to go. With Greyhound, I get more scenery (as a brighter way of looking at it), and it costs waaaay less. So thanks a lot for that tip, Rhia. =]

And Z!re: Asking my parents is pretty much how I got into this mess in the first place. =[

Well I'm not in need of a web site or sprites but I do have an idea that could get you some extra money. I don't know how you feel about needles, but you can donate plasma and get some 'free' money. I've had to do it before to make ends meet. I don't know how it is where you live but I was able to pull together about $120 a month. I know it's not much but it might help you a little at least. Anyway, I hope you're able to get where you want to go.

Don't you have to be over 18 to donate blood in the US?
