Even if someone posted on a hightraffic site, it's unlikely this would occur.. especially since they mention the "image" directory..
All in all, crappy hosting service if they cant limit the load on each customer..
I'd recomend finding another one..
As for temp stuff, I could host the main site, so you atleast could keep messages and such up.. if things like this happen again..
So your users dont hit the "Account suspended" page, but instead get to a proper message page.. or something..

Thanks for the offer, but we're on a semi dedicated server now, so more of the computer's resources are free for us to use. It's enevitable that we'd have to move to a larger server soon anyway, so I guess now's the time.

While the site was back for a few moments (I was able to upload a file there),
it now is giving me the suspended account error again.
Is this the expected downtime mentioned above?

Yes, things will be shaky until the nameservers are finished transferring. I apologize for the inconvenience of this. Trust me, this is more frustrating to me than it is you guys. I've been talking to these people getting things straight since I woke up this morning.

As a sign of apprecaition for those that use FileAnchor, I'd like to offer anyone who emails sumojo@gmail.com , a 10mb storage upgrade. Just include the email address that you use for your account in the email body and I will upgrade everyone when things are finished transferring.

An interesting thought, is it possible to create a version of foxAnchor that opened a Google ad in a tab when you uploaded a file? Perhaps this could be an option for those interested in helping to support the site but are philosophicly opposed to Pay Pal.
I know I'd set such a feature to ON and happily do a little something to keep the site going.

We are looking into a few things to help generate revenue. We're looking into the possiblities of offering paid accounts (along side the free accounts that are available now) that would offer more features than the free (but the free accounts would remain as they do now).
We're also looking at selling out the adspace ourselves, rather than through an adnetwork. Something like $10/month for a site to place an ad on ours for a month. $5/month for someone from a programming site to place a banner saying whatever they want on the site.
We'll have to see what happens in the next few days.

HostGator is a very decent service, but their tech support is terrible. They outsource most of their tech support and the company they outsource to is in India.

Actually I know one of the guys (he visits a site I do) and he's in NY. They offered me a job to help with some tech support before and I found a better offer.
