From what I hear vex is pretty good. I have LEGO mindstorms and I can tell you its not the best robotics kit around. My IR tower fails to turn on, the system doesn't recognize it, my RCX spasmodically decides to turn off, and one of my only two motors (which cost like $20 individually) broke early on.

That being said, building is very easy and modification is going to be the easiest of any kit worthwhile. If you can figure out how, you should build a vaccuum robot, I was going to build one at one point and have it be controlled by my computer, but I don't have the time atm. Course, this is a pretty advanced project, but it has a very big wow factor ntm will keep your room clean. Smile

And stop picking on DJ, it does pretty well imo, and his code is really sweet.

Buy both. I myself probably won't dive into robotics too much in the near future, since I can't even get my computer to have an intelligent conversation with me yet. When that happens, I'll get some robotics infrastructure and plant the syetm in it.

Until then, I make games.
