That sounds cool, although it seems extremely stylized (website and pieces) and probably even more expensive than Logo sets! Radioshack link gives a 404. I found it on the Radioshack price though.. $79.99 for a starter kit, and then I think $13 for the CD to program it. The starter kit has a small amount of parts though.

Lego Mindstorms is "only" the most widely known and accepted amateur robotics kit... and somewhat expensive...
