I can't belive people actually use visual basic proffesionally. But i guess the alternative being delphi or MFC i can understand that in away.

On a side note, VB apps don't scale very well, Neomodus DC was written in VB. I mailed them a few times telling them to recode it in C++ or people will get fed up and use alternatives. And that's exactly what happened.

I like VB6, I think it's an easy and relatively powerful way of doing apps fast. It serves its purpose when you don't need much power. A small business can benefit of a quick app coded in VB6+Access, you don't need to go very techy.

Knowing VB is a good thing 'cause it can give you money. Throw in a fast app in two afternoons and earn heaps of money. "Yay, personalized software!", your customer thinks. "Yay, easy money", you think.

Check out Visual Studio VB 2005 Express edition at Mircosoft dot com. It's free and might be just what your looking for.
