They are inventing a language for the purposes of talking in secret. You are inventing a language for the purposes of just doing it.

I invented this kind of languages as a child to have fun of other people not understanding shit. And I doubt that anybody will try to decipher this... are we crazy?
Do you know what it takes to understand a language you don't know, from scratch and without references?

Nath, it's a profession. People do it for a living. There are actually techniques for translating unknown languages.

I'm having a hard time seeing anyone beeing able to crack that sentence (jihnaadi jok yyümbumbù) with no inside info. Create an alphabet for it and it would be even harder. :longeye:

That was my point. I was 10. Maybe someone spends 10 years deciphering the babilonian writings, but "WHO" is gonna spend 10 years deciphering my gibberish?
BadMrBox: exactly

other than your own creativity.
The language that I am working on would be hard to crack. Not only does it use its own alphabet with some pronunciations that are somewhat difficult for a native English (possibly other langs too) speaking person to pick up on at first. Oh, and did I mention that pitch is integrated into the meaning of a sentence?

More complexity can be a bad thing though. If you wanted a language hard to crack, that is.
Let's try an example. Before prefixing is, you must declare the form of use, as so:
Quote:Ikganada (Declaration)
Gan (male Is)
iff (no gender equivalent is)
beil (female is)
Ikganada Hag-gann Deleter, Deleted.
Ikiff Hagiff Deleter, Deleted
Ikbeil Hagbeil Zire, Deleted (lolz, we tried)
Complexity causes ambiguity unless you create a system where something could be decrypted as stated above, although the above form of the language would be something a Native English speaker may create. Someone well-balanced with the creation of langauges could definitely do a betterer job. Deleter's idea on pitch is great
Now how to write it?

Hmm... I say we all make our own language and then use only our language to write our posts... perfect!
Man, that would really scare off the newbies.

I don't get this (sorry, I missed it). Why a language should be hard to crack? :???:
i don't understand how you don't understand.
look, your just replacing a group of letters with another group of letters and tacking on prefixes and suffixes. i mean, just look at the Egyptian language. it had pictures of birds and eyes and went from up to down for christ sake. and no one could figure it out until they found that Rosetta stone with the three languages. but on practical levels, your code is fine
