Like I said: The river is actually the river that I live near, most of the forest scenes were shot in Wellington (except for the elven forests which were done in the deep south), Isenguard was shot in a quarry that I can see from school... The list is endless :wink:

So what do you do when you see these things? Just say "Hey cool." or something along the lines of "WWWwhooo WHOA! HUH?! NEATO!!" :bounce:

That's actually really cool. I knew they filmed it there because Jackson wanted it to not all be just a lot of CGI... but I had no idea it was
quite like that. Wicked.

Heeh, it's not *quite* like that, most of the mountains in the background were super-imposed from the southern alps (our mountain range, in the South Island), but the river, Isenguard etc are all in Wellington.
Ninkazu: Unfortunately there is also a city in the way of me saying "WWWwhooo WHOA! HUH?! NEATO!!", and it's called Lower Hutt, my birthplace and home. To be fair, it has more greenery than most cities and the harbour is really spectacular at night, but of course there are those silly human inventions that ruin the view: buildings :wink:
