I know what you mean though. My sites crap, it doesn't pass any standards, is bland and has no content. Doesn't stop me keeping it up though.

Yeah.... true.... I can't deny I wasn't looking to annoy a few, strict, web coders.... XD

But I was also hoping that a few, that didn't care about sites being strict, would enjoy the whole style of things....

Hey, cool.. Does it have good PNG support? The updates I made for the site yesterday would be a good test... The windows are BGed w/ 70% alpha PNGs so you can see the 3D cube..

That cube is REALLY anoying. I think you should get rid of it already, especially if you want people to read what's on your site...

Also, why does it need to be in a popup? To me that exceeds pointlesness.

For the windows, as other people have already stated, I too fail to see any use for them. You wont be able to make them sufficiently fancy using JS, so you might as well just take them away, imo.

Talking about the windows, the 'footer' one strikes me as odd. The text that you put there is like introductionary to the contents of the main window, would make more sense if it was in the main window really.

It seems to me that you have crammed alot of "fancy" features in to the site, but none of them really have any usage.


Anyway, if you were just doing this as a coding exercise, it's fancy and cool and stuff. But if you want to have it as a real site, you need to fix a couple of things.

Attractive interface? Hell, looking at an index of files is more attractive. I don't think it could be a sexy site without a nice administration section for managing all the content... =p

Yeah... You can't have a style at all if you don't know what's going to be there. Heck, with the site I'm working on I don't even have a style yet. I have the basic content in a nice list. But none of the content has actually been written yet.

Ew, PNG transparency. Come on, if only new browsers can handle it then why use it? Not everyone has new browsers.

This site wasnt coded with conventional design in mind. We're attempting our own radical standards, and we'll leave the conventinal coding to "the other guys". Send any complaints you might have to mailto:fbfusion@gmail.com so we can delete them promptly.

The site is not accessible, and that's a flaw no matter what design you are using or how cool it looks.

Well it's not my call alone.. I'm constantly bouncing ideas back and forth w/ Xteraco.. Right now we want this site to be just an artistic extention of FBF with links to our demos, and other info.. and as far as I know, it works fine on IE and FF, they look different (IE has a crisp solid colour, and FF has a glass-like translucent colour), but they work on key..

Plus, since yesterday, I've taken it out of the PopUp, and dimmed out the text areas so it's easier to read the text w/o getting distracted by the cube, (which was voted to stay in our last round table of idea bouncing, etc), and added a z-buffer.... Plus, I plan to add a cookie save so the movible windows gain the use of "if you feel they look better in another position.." making it a lil less pointless....

And also, in the end, it's not all that neccesary in the first place to go there, if you 1) can't view it, or 2) hate how it looks., works, etc.. you can always goto pouet:

@Zap: Eh, the footer is useful.. Ours isn't yet, but I've seen it before in other sites where it doubled for extra info, or a tool to view pages with better ease, etc... That's still being worked out, right now I just got random space fillers in it...

And okay, it's a pointless coding exercise.. pushing the limits of what can be done.. It's a real site, cause it's a site, just not realistic.. but that's the last thing on our minds at this moment.. we are still in "experimental" mode.... ... And like I stated above, you don't need to go there in the first place....

Yeah, and I must admit, you did a fine job of it too.. :^_^:

Only prob, when the post started I was looking for just that, but after some debates inside the FB_Fusion liar, it became settled to stick out the planned course as an extention of art work to reflect what FBF was all about, etc, blah - blah, which made this whole topic pointless.... (Thus, etc, the site was made to look good, not really include content, even though there is a lil there if you want it too...)

Sorry about that lil mix up.... I should ask why I was making the site before hand.... XD .. Thanks tho, I did make some slight changes due to some of the critique..
