Quote:2. The DevC++ IDE sucks. Gimme VC++ anyday. Tongue

Gotta agree on this one Big Grin
Quote:1. FireFox is a great browser. If you want it to start up faster, ENABLE THE OPTION FOR IT. This is another case of the problem being between the keyboard and the chair. Tongue

Are you seriously telling me there is a "go faster" option available?

Please tell me there is a "go faster" option for my whole Pc? and for QuickBasic? and for every game?
No, I think he meant that you can let Firefox sit in your taskbar everytime you boot your PC. So when you require it, you just click its icon and it just opens up =P.
Quote:Are you seriously telling me there is a "go faster" option available?
I said start faster, not go faster. Read TBBQ's post above. Wink

Quote:Please tell me there is a "go faster" option for my whole Pc?
Ya, it's called delete windows and install linux. Tongue

Quote:and for QuickBasic?
Ya, it's called ffix. Tongue

Quote:and for every game?
Ya, it's called stop playing games and start doing something useful, like playing basketball in that wonderful place called outside. Wink

DP I'm just messin with you, but you did leave yourself wide open. Big Grin
>=/ *Glaring eyes*

Actually, for your information i dont play games anymore Wink

And I do go outside regularly, in fact I love mountain biking =)

And I meant something apart from ffix =D

And, yes, I acknowledge the "just messin with ya" part.
(i wouldnt exactly say i was left wide open though" =P
Quote:3. Quake had and has great graphics. Anyone who says differently is an elitist bonehead who has forgotten their roots.

i was comparing it to todays standards  on a personal level, I play quake very often, just because it never loses its replay value Big Grin
Today's game standards go a little like this:

"Everyone wants killer graphics, so let's mae a bunch of clones of earlier games which made us a ton of $$$. Gameplay? Pfft, our games have killer graphics! And we're a household name now, so why bother investing time and money in gameplay when we've got...killer graphics!!!!!!!"

Ugh. :barf:
i can't stand people who play a game just because it looks pretty. i have never once boughten a game for the purposes of its graphics, and i fell pitty on those who have...
Well, graphics are one of the major criterion when you are buying a game. But its not the only one =). Game play, genre, system compatibility, hardware requirements, price and appeal all play a major role while buying a computer game =P.
When I buy a game...

heh, wait - I don't buy games Tongue they are for free at emule.

The last game I bought was "Tomb Raider I" 'cause I found it for 8 € two years ago, and I had a ripped version (with no FMVs).

Anyhow, moral questions appart Wink, I think that gameplay is the #1 reason to buy a game, BUT aesthetics are also important. I don't mean having 300,000 polygons, but getting an athmosphere. That's the main reason why I prefer Quake 1 over Quake 3, for example.

Last game I completed was "Blood Rayne". It lasted just three weeks, but I liked it. It was very fun. Easy (even in the hard level), but fun. I recommend it, it has great GFX and runs quite smooth. The gameplay is superb.

I also love Tron 2.0, the ambience is great. It's like my dreams when I was a child and first saw the movie. I thought "some day a game that looks like this will be released", and it was.

Another game I am playing at the time has to be American McGee's Alice. It's almost 4 years old, but I still consider it one of the best designed games out there. The characters and levels are... unbelievable. And the music (by the great NIN keyboardist) is really SCARY!
