Direct 3d won't work on this system. Can create dx surfaces. Don't know why.
OGL and SDL works even in HW mode but I would assume that they revert back to SWmode. Hence the slowdown. I just tested the demo above in this net cafe computer and it ran a full framerate.
This is just a 400 mhz athlon. :*(
Awesome as ever Rel, ran at full speed here.. a shame you can't use textures, your card has not enough VRAM to "upload" them, i guess :/
To Richard Eric M. Lope:
On your SDL + OpenGL example that you just now presented in this thread, I *must* tell you so honestly that you did such an
awesome job on it, my man!!
I am proud of you here, as your latest demo ran really well so far on even the computer that I still use!!
Benchmarks for the demo that I have tested on the 450mhz Pentium-III computer: FULL 60fps, 640x480 resolution, 16-bit color. Nothing short of impressive indeed!!
=b
You just keep that kind of stuff in FB up, you understand me? :king: ! God so bless you and be seeing you again soon as I prepare within the new week of 12-05-2004 to add your thing to my projects site!

Nice demo, rel, but it wouldnt close! No amount of clicking on the X or selecting close from the menu would close it down. =P
had to use task manager, and even then it was difficult about closing. Stopped responding...
awesome demo Rel. FB is incredible.
My feeble addition thus far...

It uses advapi32 to return the name of the currently logged in user. I suppose I'm more interested in porting stuff like advapi32 and comdlg32 and making additions to user32 and kernel32 than I am in making the latest game. Wow, times have changed.
Might make a regular contribution in QBexpress using FB.
Since I have numerous emails about the algo I use in those PTC demos, I'll tackle PTC first and then SDL + OPENGL. Remember, I'm still learning how to use OGL. :*)
Thanks for the comments. :*)
BTW, do you guys know of a downloadable "OGL Blue book"? That's the reference manual.
Thanks!!!
