Linux, Solaris, XINU, Minix, BSD...they all fall under the UNIX umbrella. Therefore I say UNIX.

Pedant point, the name UNIX, in captials refers to the system originally produced by AT&T Bell Labs and is copyrighted as such. Unix, with lowercase letters refers to generic Unix systems such as Solaris, HP-UX and Xenix.

Unix systems are not uncrackable, and there have been some major exploits found in the past.

Say it! Why wont you say Linux for one god damned time?

You need to try some other Unix variants or just other operating systems in general, you'll realise that Linux isn't the be and end all operating system.

I have tried a lot of other OSs such as BEOS, QNX,.... but I have found Linux to be the best. But thats just my opinion =P. If you think some other OS is great then thats just your opinion =).

When Mandrake is suited for my desktop (read carefully: MY desktop), it'll be what I replace Windows with. Until then...my computers run Windows 98 SE Custom and Windows XP Special Edition. And nothing else.

No system is perfect, not even Unix-based systems. All operating systems have exploits. But LC, the way you said that implies that Unix would be on par with all other operating systems in terms of known exploits, and anyone not living under a rock knows differently.

By the way...it's all UNIX to me.
