Look, there won't ever be a spam/toasty forum here. Why? If you do end up in a debate that breaks rules, and it's locked, nobody is stopping you from going to your own forum, or another religious/political forum where they will welcome your arguments and carrying on there! What's so hard to see about this? This forum is for QB, and QB first. If this forum was for something other than QB then maybe arguing over religion/politics would be welcome, but it's not.

Why is it so hard for you guys to get this??? It's like you wouldn't like it if you lived in a peaceful suburb, then two gangs moved in and started fighting, you'd want them to move, wouldn't you? Well, it's the same principle, only substitute "suburb" for "Qb forum" and "fighting" for "arguing about religion/politics".

Having said that, debate is fine as long as it's just that - debate. This means backing personal opinions with fact, and no flaming.

i totally agree. hey oracle, since you seem to be avoiding me or you have just chosen not to reply to my other post about the green highlight thing on adosorken, sumojo, fling-master, etc. how did you choose who got that privilege? is there any reason that you didnt choose for example... whitetiger? he seems to have good posting habits, a loyal member, etc...

Sure it is, but remember that a forum is made up by the members. Without the members, the forum does not exist. And if the members feel the need to talk about certain themes (I consider it extremely interesting, maybe 'cause I am open-minded and can accept that another people thinks differently) they should be free to do that.

The members who usually enter in debates are also among the top posters of this site, mind you. Good ambience is created when people feel free to express their ideas and share their points of view. Yeah, this is a QB site, but the General section is there for something. If you don't like this kind of stuff in the forum, remove the General section. But if a forum, appart from being informative and useful for what it is designed, stops being "fun" and "enjoyable", it will end empty. Just compare the number of posts in the "programming forum" and in the "general" forum to make a picture of what I am saying.
