Honestly, the spam formula thing ranks in my list of 'last things I'd expect to be said' list. This is something that I'll probably find useful, and I'm greatful for it. I've seen topics much worse than this, and they've slid right by.

That's all I'm gonna say for now,though. Since everyone else has pretty much said what I was gonna say. (except stevie anyway...)

Oracle is not a douchebag or an assclown, it's his forum and if he doesn't like the way someone does something he is entitled to say. Let face it how many forums like advertising of any kind? Its generally polite to ask before posting stuff like this and and oracle exercised his right to point this out(it wasn't obviously a qb site when you read the thread title); and notice he didn't delete it. There are plenty of sites that I know would have been doing some banning or deleting for this type of post!

2. I'm sure Oracle is using rule #6 to the fullest and most absurb extent.

3. It's a QB site. It's for people to upload and leech QB works. He visited the site.
4. He didnt delete it because it didnt break any forum rules. Had he done it this would have been much worse than the crap he posted. Spam, as defined in rule #4, doesnt fit this thread because it wasnt excessive nor of a commercial nature. It was also posted in the appropriate section (General), although this should be news, since it offers a service, and isnt propaganda like other threads in the News section.
5. If you think this type of thread is spam, then stay on other sites where people are banned and deleted for trying to be helpful to the community.
6. No one likes a kissass. Look a little beyond your nose and see the full story.

First of all I never said ***I*** thought it was spam. What mean is I do not agree with him being called an douchebad or an assclown for starters and I was saying I do NOT think he is. This thread was not obviously advertising a qb site - where does it mention qb??????????????? People are likely to use for qb but nevertheless. The subject certainly looked commercial at first glance and therefore oracle can make comments, where did I say I objected to post? My point was that I feel oracle had to the right to object without been called an assclown or anything else.

3. anyone worth their salt can make the connection, especially considering the meat of the information, that it's for QB-related stuff

What I really meant to post was that it's designed to match the qb ide. If you look at the site (at least it's this way for me) it's obvious.

Like make each subtitle Bold, possibly All Caps, and maybe like some light blue. But keep it the same font size and face as the rest. I changed it to look more qbish, and took your advice on the fonts, and turned the bright white a bit down. It looks a little weird even if I add a bit of blue, but if it's still bad, I might just add a little bit

Also I recommend 2 radio buttons instead of a checkbox for Download on Click/Show in Browser because it's to confusing the way it's set up right now

You are correct. The define() thing was harsh. However, I don't see so much propoganda in the news section, so I don't understand what you mean by that. Remember, it is now the members (na_th, Nek and sumojo being three of them) who decide what is news and what is not, why not complain to them about that? Nath also mentions he sees crap being accepted for news - why do you think that the new news posters rules were posted? Because the admins also felt that one or more of the posters wern't doing their job properly. You news posters have to look at yourselves - because you know admin wouldn't approve some of that stuff.

If we should go by that then Oracle shouldn't be an admin, cause he's advertising QBNZ, and Dav (example, no pun) shouldn't be allowed to post about his site, (being hosted at QBNZ?)

Small difference: I haven't advertised QBNZ for ages here, and you all know it. When Dav's site opened at QBNZ, he posted news, and it was news. And in fact, this thread is really news as well, as I've said above now I realise this. Please accept my apologies for the post, all of you. I get stuff wrong, and you guys know this. I'd just appreciate things like this:
