The reason for the debate forum is to have a place for members to post to topics that don't really fit in well in the rest of the forum. The idea came from Sumojo(I think) and was taken up. Its not a great solution but it is one.

I don't think it's THAT big a deal. I'm not going to join this discussion group, as I think it's not really completely necessary, but I don't see any problem with it existing. Instead of complaining about how things are at this forum, why don't you people spend more time posting at TBN! [/shameless plug]
