Missing In Action...
#11
Why i started blabbing about DOS' death here? Now i created a topic again what is far away from it's title... Or not, but i originally not wanted this here... No matter :-?

If i program in DOS, i always want to create real REAL MODE stuff. So i will use a language which can produce real mode DOS programs. Protected mode in DOS is just a silly thing in my opinion: i code for Windows instead using Dev - C++ (I am triing to create apps which should be easily portable to Linux. At least i hope they will be).

Dual boot: sometimes this not helps. I had seen a computer on wich it was NOT POSSIBLE to install 95 style Windowses (The installer exited with a failure before the actual installer wizard loaded), but only XP Sad

Gorillas: it is some sort of perfect game: my friend has a real XT with a CGA monitor, and it ran on it! Smile This is the only thing what Micro$oft could made without bugs Big Grin
fter 60 million years a civilization will search for a meteorite destroying most of the living creatures around this age...

There must be a better future for the Cheetahs!

Well, I thought this before even FB appeared. A directory of all playable QB games should be available. A place where you can download all QB games ever made. Nothing fancy. Just a title, author and the year of release. And I don't mean every worthless QB program that dares to be called "a game" should be there but everything that can be actually played should.

But I doubt anyone will ever take this job. It's a lot of work.

As for future I don't think that FB has a bight one too. The era of 64k is coming quite fast. I think people will start switching to new 64k Windows and new 64k applications in 3-4 years.

Erm, those 64k cpus are still backward compatible, and on the other side, i will not switch as long as there are such big brother things like paladium.
I like my privacy.
I am playing even with the idea of buying myself an AmigaOne ^.^

My flat pal got an AMD 64... Whoa, that's all I can tell. MS Word opens instantly. Adobe Photoshop CS takes 5 seconds.

I know which will be the next micro and mobo I'll buy Wink

Plus the AMD 64 is fully backwards comparible with 32 and 16 bits stuff.

Do you need dos to run qb, cause my computer does not use the dos window every one is talking about (the one with paste), it runs it in the same kind of window as if you pressed ALT and ENTER during a game (like doom 3, trust me it takes ages but will shrink), is this the DOS window?

Big Grin Hay, as for that every game site, make a seach engine that looks for games made in QB... Google serches this way, or must, looking for HTML <meta> tags... just make this one look for key words reffering to QB.

Reminds me, need to write a <meta> tag into my site, this help Google find it again,. hmm.. Smile or change the URL back to the old 1, hmm,. oh well..

64bit!! :o ,. *drifts into daydream and drifts out the thread* :normal:
